Georgian 1714-1830
There is a moderate stable market for Georgian period pieces.  The major factor affecting price is condition and gemstone quality.  Georgian jewelry that has been restored can be devaluated unless the restoration was done properly.  Gemstones from this period are often of moderate quality.  If you have Georgian jewelry with good or fine quality gemstones they will bring a substantial premium. Victorian 1837-1901estate_jewelry_guide
Jewelry from this period tends to be very ornate.  Jewelry once very common is currently in high demand.  Condition plays a major factor especially with anything enameled.  We have many spare pieces (very small 1/2 pearls, custom cut gems, etc.) for restoration purposes.  Cameos, lockets, brooches and mourning jewelry are typical of this period and we buy all quality jewelry from this period. Often Victorian jewelry is not made of gold but can still have good value. Click here for an estate jewelry quote.

Art Nouveau 1880 - 1915
Sinuous plantlike forms and gently flowing lines
characterize this jewelry.  Sometimes enameled in beautiful colors were bizarre shapes of dragonflies, bats, irises and lilies.  Often this jewelry will have little or no gemstones however even without gems Art Nouveau jewelry can be worth up to 150 times their weight in gold (in mint condition). We are strong buyers of all types of Art Nouveau estate jewelry.

The Roaring 20's 1916 - 1929
The most common of all estate jewelry.  It was a time of prosperity and almost everyone's mother or grandmother had jewelry from the 20's.  Commonly set with large center diamonds and many small side diamonds, rubies, emeralds or sapphires.  Platinum (a rare white heavy metal) was very popular at this time. It can be identified by the following marks:
Plat., Plat/Rhod, 90/10, 95/5, .900PL. We are very interested in buying estate jewelry from this era.  We have an extremely strong interest in jewelry with diamonds over 2 carats.
